What is the Heat Press project?
Heat Press Project is a project where we have to make a logo or picture and put it on a piece of clothing. You cut the vinyl out with the vinyl cutter and then stick it onto the shirt using the heat press. The vinyl has to have at least 4 different colors and the clothing cannot be nylon and is recommended to be cotton.
Designing
I like Formula One and my favorite team is Red Bull Racing. Since I don't have a Red Bull or F1 shirt, I thought I should make one for myself.
Finishing the design
Since I didn't have Illustrator at home, I designed it on Paint 3D so when I went to class I could put it on Illustrator. I also added the number and name of one of my favorite F1 drivers. My 4 colors are Red, Blue, Yellow and White.
I forgot to get the picture of me putting it on Illustrator.
Prepping for heat press
After I cut the 4 colors out with the vinyl cutter, I started the heat press and prepped the vinyl to be put on my shirt.
Using the Heat press
Now its time to put the things on my gray shirt.
Conclusion
This project was fun because I got to make a t-shirt that was the design of my choosing. Although, it was hard because I've never used the vinyl cutter or the heat press so there was a learning curve. During the process of using the heat press, I put the vinyl the wrong way and it stuck to the hot part of the heat press. This caused me to not be able to use it for a day while the teacher cleaned it. Otherwise, things went smoothly and I got to make a cool design and I would do it again if I got the chance.
